James Morris, D.D.S
Dr. Morris grew up in Mesa, Arizona and completed his undergraduate education at Arizona State University. He received his dental degree from A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health where he was awarded a scholarship from the United States Navy. Upon graduation from dental school in 2011, he completed a one-year general practice residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton in California. He then served in the Fleet in various operational and shore-duty roles as a general dentist.
In 2016, Dr. Morris decided to limit his practice to endodontics and began specialty residency at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Maryland. After completing residency in 2018, he returned to the Fleet to serve sailors and marines as an endodontist. In November 2019, he completed the rigorous process of board certification and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. In 2020, he spent three years on staff at the U.S. Navy’s Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency, where he trained new general dentists in endodontics preparing them for independent duty in the Fleet. During that time, Dr. Morris also provided continuing education courses to dentists from all over the Department of Defense and maintained a full patient-care schedule.
After 12 years of active service in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Morris has joined Poway Endodontics and looks forward to using his skills and experience to provide top-quality endodontic specialty care. He, his wife Crystal, and their five children live in North County and enjoy sports, the outdoors, and spending time together as a family.
