Erol S. Apaydin, D.D.S, M.S

Dr. Apaydin is a native Californian.  He spent his early years in San Diego and then moved to Iowa at age 13.  Dr. Apaydin earned his bachelor of science degree in general science at the University of Iowa in 1980.  He attended dental school at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, graduating with a DDS degree in 1984. 

Dr. Apaydin had his own general dental practice in the Iowa City area from 1984 to 1993.  He was a Navy Dental Officer from 1993 to 2003, serving in dental clinics at Naval Training Center Orlando, Naval Dental Center Southwest, Branch Dental Clinic Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Naval Medical Center San Diego, and aboard USS McKEE.  While a Navy Dental Officer he attended the Endodontics residency at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry.  Dr. Apaydin received his certificate in Endodontics in 2001 and earned a Masters’s Degree in Endodontics in 2002. 

Upon graduation from his residency in 2001, he was in charge of the Endodontics training program in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Naval Dental Center Southwest.  Dr. Apaydin left the Navy as a Commander in 2003 to join Dr. Brunson as an associate in his endodontic practice in Poway.  On January 1st, 2013, Dr. Apaydin purchased the practice from Dr. Brunson and is now the practice owner.   Dr. Apaydin is a member of the American Dental Association, The American Association of Endodontists, the California State Association of Endodontists, and the San Diego County Dental Society.  He has been a visiting lecturer for the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry Department of Endodontics. Dr. Apaydin’s spare time is spent with friends and family.  He enjoys hiking, reading, photography, activities in his church, and travel.
