A very important autograph letter in French signed by him, dated in Paris, April 8, 1872, to a collegue, mentioning a trial regarding the widow of the composer Gioacchino Rossini, Olympe Plissier, and unpublished works by the composer: Je ne pouvais rien vous crire avant de connatre lissue du procs de Madame Rossini.
